The St. Maria Goretti School of Religion celebrated its 12th Annual Living Rosary on Sunday, October 6th, 2019 in the Msgr. L. Earl Gauthreaux Center after classes at 11:10am. The Rosary was said in honor of October being the month of the Rosary and the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Monday, October 7th. It was at the apparitions at Fatima, Portugal in 1917 that Our Lady of Fatima asked all of the church to pray the Rosary for peace.  It was also during these apparitions that Our Blessed Mother made the following request of us all:
"When you recite the Rosary, say at the end of each decade: 'Oh My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.'"

Pictured above are the students and teachers who participated in the Living Rosary. Those participating formed themselves in the shape of a Rosary and each represented a bead reciting the prayer of that particular bead.
